In keeping with the high educational standards of OIP&T, the College provides you with the opportunity to develop a practical, working knowledge of the equipment and materials you will use on the job.
Photography
There are five fully-equipped studios where photography majors may explore camera and lighting exercises, tabletop photography, and portrait techniques. The College provides, at no extra charge, all studio and location equipment required to complete assignments. Some of the equipment available for your use from either labs or equipment checkout includes:
- Cameras
- Lighting equipment
- Light meters
- Computers
Allied Health
All equipment needed for the allied health programs is provided, but a fee will be charged for supplies. Computers are available for the administrative courses. The clinical portion utilizes autoclaves, centrifuges, exam tables, EKGs, and numerous other items found in a medical lab or doctor's office.
Graphic Design/Multimedia
Most equipment necessary to complete the graphic design program is included in the tuition and made available before the start of each term. This includes all non-electronic art media, in addition to the use of computer lab space, printers, and peripherals. Nine computer labs (IBM and Macintosh) plus audiovisual areas provide multimedia majors with industry-related digital technologies and imaging.
Pharmacy Technician
Equipment needed to complete the pharmacy technician program is provided as part of tuition, books, and supplies. Lab facilities include a laminar flow hood, scales, and medication processing areas.
Criminal Justice
OIP&T uses a firearm training simulator (FATS) to enhance classroom education. The FATS law enforcement training system is a tool to address judgmental use of force. It offers hundreds of video scenarios to address students' decision-making skills and may incorporate the use of communication skills and firearms.
